Lori Levandowski of Milwaukee, Wis. (pictured right), has been on a tear with her Twisted Fury and Sidewinder. Lori began the season averaging 155, she started working with her coach, Dwight Albrecht (pictured left) and recently posted her seventh 600 series of the season! Lori’s second place finish in the 2008 Milwaukee City Tournament doubles event paved the way to being crowned the 2008 City of Milwaukee All Events Champion. Natalie Cortese of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, used her Twisted Fury to win the Girl’s Division at the Denny's All-American High School Championships. Dave Bolles (center) used his Twisted Fury and FuryPearl to win the Brunswick Modesto Bowling Association Masters, tournament averaging 246 for 21 games. Dave works as a inside sales rep for bowling distributor H.J. Malone. The tournament was hosted by Jim Gordin (left) at Yosemite Lane and had record turnout. Brian Hensley of Cincinnati, Ohio used a Twisted Fury to sweep both the Scratch and Handicap Singles divisions at the Cincinnati City Tournament. Brian’s scratch series of 778 in singles paved the way to a 2,146 All Events title as well! The tournament was held at Western Bowl in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ray Salas of Livermore, CA finds a way to score when he gets in the Red Zone. Ray shot 300 with his Red Zone® at the Port Stockton Nisei Tournament held at Pacific Lanes in Stockton, CA. He also won the Scratch All-Events title at the Storm National Mixed Championships held at the Bowling Stadium in Reno, NV. Ray recently mixed it up with his Twisted Fury and let loose a 812 series on games of 278-255-279, at the San Francisco Nikkei Tournament at Serra Bowl in Daly City, Ca. Kristin Warzinski of Milwaukee, WI, won the Annual Miller Lite All-Star Scratch Tournament with her Twisted Fury. The tournament and TV finals were held at Town and Country Lanes in Burlington, WI. Brunswick Regional Staff member, Tom Carter of Rockford, IL, shot 844 with his Twisted Fury. Tom put together games of 268, 277, 299 at the Cherry Bowl in Rockford, IL. TWISTED DUTCHMAN! Tod Grams of Holland, Mich. knew he had something special after shooting 300 his very first game with the Twisted Fury. In just his first ten games with his Twisted Fury, Grams has recorded (2) – 300 games, a 299, a 287, (2) – 279 games and an 865 series! Brunswick staff member, Zara Glover of England, was inducted into the World Bowling Writers Hall of Fame. Zara competes in events worldwide. Her accomplishments include having won numerous medals as a member of Team England. Zara currently works as a Product Specialist for Brunswick’s distributor in England, Bowling Vision. Raul “Spanky” Rosales of El Monte, Cal. has been on a tear with his Brunswick arsenal. In the span of one month Raul recorded five 300 games and three 800 series. He shot three 300 games, an 837 and an 835 series with his Fury Pearl. With his Rampage he added a 300 and 832 and with his Scorchin’ Inferno™ another 300 game. Jason Sterner, Roswell, GA, captured his third career PBA Regional Title at the PBA South Region Surfside Beach, SC Open. Jason was using a Sidewinder ball. BACK ON TOP! Parker Bohn captured his 31st career Professional Bowlers title by winning the Spartanburg Classic in Spartanburg, SC. Parker defeated Rhino Page in the title match 267-257. LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY WINS BRUNSWICK SOUTHERN CLASSIC Lindenwood University’s Men team won the Brunswick Southern Classic in Marietta, Georgia. Team members, Ryan Council, Mike Dole, Jason Dutcher, Daniel Farish, Doug Heimos, Justin Lynn, Dean Richards and Colt Seaberg put together a late rally which included three consecutive games over 1,100 to take the lead over William Patterson University for good. The win is Lindenwood's second tier one victory and third overall of the season since they started using Brunswick equipment. Congratulations from the Brunswick Team
Masterfully Done! Sean Rash kept his winning streak on TV at a perfect 7-0 as he became just the second bowler to win a title in each of his first four TV appearances. Sean defeated Steve Jaros 269-245 to win the 2007 USBC Masters. The win was Sean’s first career PBA Major title. Sean used a Total Inferno® on TV but also used the Twisted Fury and Fury Pearl during match play and qualifying. Congratulations from the Brunswick Team
Happy Days! Richard Cunningham bowled two 300 games within a two week period using his Radical Inferno™! Richard bowled the 300 games during league at Rancho Bowl in Santa Maria, Cal. More unique than the achievement itself, was the fact Richard’s grandson, Justin Cunningham, age 17, drilled the ball. Lucky 13! Ryan Oldham of Portland, Oregon continues his hot streak. Building off an 879 series, which included two 300 games, Ryan added ten more honor scores in just one month! During the month span, Ryan totaled 13 honor scores. He had five 800 series, five 300's, one 299, one 298 and one 297. All the scores were shot using his Fury Pearl. Using his Blast Zone® for the first time, Stuart Williams of England proceeded to bowl a 300 game! Stuart is the reigning World Ranking Masters Champion. Kim Yeau Jim (pictured left) of Korea became the second women in the history of the World Women Championships to shoot a 300 game during competition. Kim bowled the 300 during the doubles event using her International Zone. Kim and partner, Gye Min Young, won the silver medal in the doubles competition. Click here to read more. Records made at World Women Championships! Team USA member, Diandra Asbaty, became the first two-time Masters winner at the World Women Championship. Diandra captured the gold medal at this year’s event in Monterrey, Mexico. She also won the Masters title in 2003. Tammy Veneski of McDonald, Penn., won the 2007 Pepsi Youth Championships Division 1 girls title in Buffalo, NY. Tammy used her Smokin’ Inferno® to roll her way to the title. Missy Bellinder of Fullerton, Calif., became the first woman to win two PBA events when she won the PBA West/Northwest Regions Don Johnson Memorial Classic. Missy used the Fury Pearl and a Total Inferno® to average just over 225 for the tournament. Missy dominated by recording 7 wins and no losses in match play, including a 240 to 234 win over Eric Forkel in the title match. The event was held at Sea Bowl in Pacifica, Calif. P.J. Haggerty and Warren Nelson tied a USBC record when they shot a 600 game in doubles. They accomplished this feat during the Cedar Monday Doubles League at Cedar Lanes in Fresno, California. Mike Rose Jr. of West Henrietta, N.Y., won the Regular All-Events crown at the USBC Open Championships, held in Reno, Nevada. Mike bowled 787 in singles, 724 in doubles and 687 in team for 2,198, the highest all-events total since the tournament's last trip to Reno in 2004.
