Takiko Naganawa, Sunbridge Group Pro Staff member, scored the first perfect game during the televised finals of the 2009 Handa Cup Philanthropy Tournament recently held in Japan. For her achievement, Naganawa was presented with the Perfect Game Award by tournament sponsor, Sunbridge Group. Naganawa used the Brunswick Siege Defender and Power Zone during the tournament. Jay Futrell, Brunswick regional pro staff member from Derby, Kan., won his second PBA Regional in the past three events, using the new C•(System) 2.5. After winning just two weeks earlier in the MW/SW Region Barney's Open in Springfield, Miss., using a variety of his Brunswick arsenal, Jay used the C•(System) 2.5 almost exclusively in his latest win at the SW Region Denver Matchplay Open. Brunswick Senior regional staffer, Ross Packard, has been winning lately against young and old competition. After a runner-up finish in last summer's Senior Masters in Las Vegas, Ross recently claimed a win at the W/NW Region’s Senior Don Johnson Memorial Classic. If that were not enough, he decided to beat up on the young guns by winning the West Region Spalding G Wathen Memorial Open. Junior Team England Bowlers Win Staff Contract with Brunswick The top female and male junior bowlers from the United Kingdom recently competed in the NAYBC Masters to compete for the biggest prize ever awarded in UK junior bowling, a 12-month Brunswick staff contract. Congratulations to Kirsten MacGregor, Selby, for winning the female spot and Matt Fidgett, Norwich, for capturing the male title. Both players are part of the Junior Team England squad where bowlers will be selected to represent England in the European Championships. Congratulations from the Brunswick Team
Nicole Sanders, the Netherlands, recently took home the trophy for winning the 2009 European Women Master held in Barcelona, Spain. Nicole used a Wild Thing during the entire 12-game tournament and also bowled a 300!

Gery Verbruggen crowned “Prince de Liège”! Brunswick Regional Staff player, Gery Verbruggen, recently won the “Prince de Liège” Tournament. Gery kept a tournament average of 243,33 pins, including a high game of 280, good enough to hold off the strong competition. The Prince de Liège tournament, played in the Belgian city of Liège, is the first stop of the Belgian Super 6 Series. Mr. Jung Seo-Hak, Brunkor Pro Staff, recently became the first-ever three-time champion of the Korean PBA Brunswick Cup sponsored by Brunswick distributor, Brunkor. Jung Seo-Hak used the Wild Thing at Anyang 32 Lanes in Korea. He is the first bowler to win three KPBA Tournaments 2006, 2008, 2009. Congratulations from the Brunswick Team
Sean Rash, Brunswick Pro Staff, won second in the Men’s Open Masters in the 42nd Singapore International Open. Sean shot a Singapore record-breaking 1,040 in four consecutive games in Masters qualifying round, using a Python, Avalanche and International series Power Zone. Scott Wieck, of Sheboygan, Wisc., recently shot an 877 series (299, 300, 278) with an Ultra Zone® in a sanctioned Adult/Youth Summer League. The achievement was Scott’s third 300 game and first 800 series with the Ultra Zone and marks the second highest series ever in Sheboygan history Scott’s ball was drilled by Todd Schaetzer, manager of Lakeshore Lanes in Sheboygan. Congratulations to Brunswick Staffer, Brenda Edwards, for setting a new all-time Doubles record at this year’s USBC National Tournament in Las Vegas. Brenda and her partner, Stephen Padilla, shot a 1566 to take the lead. Brenda had games of 264, 288, and 224 for a 776 series with a Python, added to Stephen's 790. During the Singles event, Brenda continued to use a Python adding a 300-game to her high-scoring day. During Singles, she shot 227, 258, and 300 for a 785. THE DEADLY SIEGE! Robert Way got his summer scratch league off to an excellent start by recently shooting an 804 en route to a four-game series of 1062 pins with his new and deadly Siege ball. Petraglia wins his first Senior Title of the Season! After a record-breaking qualifying run, Brunswick Pro Staffer, Johnny Petraglia, won the PBA Senior Sun Bowl Tour in The Villages, Fla. Johnny used a Wild Ride throughout the tournament to win the championship match and the seventh Senior title of his career. Click to read more. Family Pride Jim Ewald recently bowled his first 300 game with a Brunswick Smash Zone. The Ewald family collectively has now rolled 89 perfect games! Jim’s accomplishment happened during leagues at Sterling East Side Senior Classic league at Sterling Lanes in Sterling Heights, MI. Britain's Got Talent! England's John Wells "got wild" with his bowling ball... again! The 300-game wonder tossed a perfect game using his brand new Brunswick Wild Ride. "I used the Wild Ride on the long pattern and the Rattler on the short. Both balls matched up great on the patterns giving me unbelievable reaction.“ John shot his 38th 300, en-route to an 806 series, during league play in Tolworth, England. Wild Scoring! Thomas Patterson of Tulsa, Okla., shot games of 300, 299, and 279 to tie the Oklahoma State Record with a series of 878 with the Wild Ride. Brunswick Arsenal is in the Bag Josh Stephens, assistant manager at Fort Leavonworth Bowling Center in Kansas, has been scoring high with his arsenal of Brunswick bowling balls and averaging a 235. Stephens recently rolled an 814 series with a Brunswick Rattler and an 805 with the Avalanche Solid. During a separate game, he was 10 pins shy of a perfect game with the Wild Ride. To top off his accomplishments, he captured first place in a King of the Hill Tournament, also with the Rattler.

800 Series is Twice as Nice! Terry Cottrell of Dubuque, Iowa, recently shot two 800 series, two nights apart, in two different leagues. Cottrell rolled his 808 and 820-series at Creslanes with his Twisted Fury Solid and it was drilled by Steve Oneyear at Creslanes Pro Shop.

Girl Power! Zara and Nicole perfect with Rattler and Wild Ride Brunswick Staff Player, Zara Glover (right), used her new Rattler during league play at Dunstable, England, recently and scored 300 in her third game of the night while bowling with 300-game specialist John Wells, who scored perfect games in the last two consecutive weeks using his new Wild Ride, for the first time. Rising star from the Netherlands, Nicole Sanders, rolled to a perfect game of her own using her newly drilled Wild Ride. She bowled a 300 in the third game of double league at her home center in Emmen, The Netherlands.

2009 Korea National Bowling Youth Brunswick Korea staff member, Hae-Sol Hong (left), of the Korea National Sports University, came out on top during the recent Korea National Bowling Youth Tournament with a 216.8 average. Hong defeated Jong-Woo Park (right) who finished second with a 214 average. Hong and Park won their top honors by successfully matching up the lane pattern conditions with the Maxxx Zone, Firing Inferno & Red Alert Surge balls. Congratulations from the Brunswick Team
TWISTED PERFECTION After earning a brand new Brunswick ball from his center for scoring a perfect game, Keith Neyen recently rolled his first 800-series with that new ball, the Twisted Fury Solid. Keith scored his 831 series during the men’s league at Cobra Lanes in Farley, Iowa. The center recently installed Brunswick Pro Lane synthetic lanes, adding to the consistency of Keith’s scores. ED SMAGLIK STRIKES TO WIN MINI ELIMINATOR Congratulations to Ed Smaglik of Flagstaff, Arizona, for winning the Mini Eliminator in Las Vegas. Smaglik used his Rattler throughout the tournament, allowing him to clinch the championship and $20,000 at South Point Casino in Las Vegas. Ed’s Rattler was drilled by Johnny D. at the South Point.
