Sean Rash Hosts 17th Annual Stars of the Future Youth Tournament
In addition to competing on the PBA Tour and dominating this year’s PBA World Series of Bowling, Brunswick Pro Staffer Sean Rash also hosted the 17th annual “Stars of the Future” youth tournament in his former home state of Alaska.
“I started this event because the only scratch event in Alaska was the Coca-Cola Youth Championships. I wanted young players to have a chance to tune up their game in preparation for Coca-Cola because if you won that tournament, you won an entry into the Coca-Cola National event,” said Rash.
The event has paid out over $24,000 in scholarships since it began and also offers a number of door prizes, including autographed items from select PBA players. This year’s event included 26 Alaskan youth bowlers and a total of $2,600 in scholarships and one paid entry into the North Pointe Junior Gold National Championships were awarded.
Rash added, “Hosting this event in Alaska where I grew up and in the bowling center I started at, Jewel Lake Bowl, means a ton. Although I do not live there anymore, it shows me that Jewel Lake Bowl still cares about our youth and the competitive side of bowling.”
