Sean Rash qualified 3rd for the PBA Scorpion Finals
The Scorpion Open is the third of four PBA “animal pattern” championships conducted during the World Series of Bowling.
Joining Rash in the four-player eliminator field will be England’s Dom Barrett; Dave Wodka of Henderson, Nev., who won his only PBA Tour title in the 1999 Greater Detroit Open; and 13-time PBA Tour titlist Patrick Allen of Wesley Chapel, Fla., who is seeking his first title in two years.
Rash earned the third qualifier position for the Scorpion finals by averaging 229.79 over 14 qualifying games, less than 50 pins behind top qualifier Barrett.
Rash, a four-time PBA Tour champion, who qualified for the ESPN finals in a record six PBA World Series of Bowling events, is trying for his first title since the 2007 USBC Masters.
In the eliminator format the four finalists will bowl a one-game match. The player with the lowest score will be eliminated. The three survivors will bowl another game, with the low man ousted. The two finalists will then bowl a final game for the title.
PBA Scorpion Finals at South Point Bowling Center, Las Vegas will air Sunday, February 19 on ESPN at 3:00 p.m. EST.
