The following information is presented to assist customers with maintaining Brunswick Vector Plus and Vector Center Network Systems (CNS) and keeping the computers free from virus attacks. Please review

Adding Internet Capabilities to Your Brunswick System

Brunswick Technical Support strongly suggests that the Brunswick Internet Connection Policy be followed when adding internet connectivity to the Vector Plus or Vector System. The policy (current version is available from Brunswick Technical Support) explains how the hardware should be set up and the necessary steps to protect the CNS from virus attacks. Setting up the system in this manner will reduce the need to work with Brunswick Technical Support to get your system operating properly and the possibility of incurring charges for support.

Antivirus Protection
Antivirus software protects the computer against viruses, worms, Trojan horse programs, spy ware and related security threats. Licensed antivirus applications automatically update to immunize the computer
against new computer virus outbreaks coming from the internet or from applications that have been loaded on the computer. If the antivirus application is allowed to expire, it quickly becomes out of date and will no
longer protect the computer from any new viruses or spy ware that can be launched at any time. This can be costly to your business as well as time consuming to correct the damage to the computer files and operating
system.

Many customers purchase or renew their antivirus protection software one year at a time. The Brunswick Technical Support Team recommends that the antivirus program be checked every 4 months to make sure the software license is current.

IMPORTANT!: Make sure the antivirus application version purchased is for the operating system that is currently running on the Brunswick Vector Plus Server or Vector Dator computer. (Examples: Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2000 or Windows 2000 Server etc.)

NOTE: The following software packages have not worked well with Vector Plus:

  • Norton Antivirus 2006, 2007 or 2008
